Trial & cancellation

How the 7-day free trial works, when you're charged, and how to cancel.

The 7-day free trial

Every new Starter subscription starts with a 7-day free trial. You add a card at signup but you're not charged on day one. The first charge happens on day 8 — and only if you haven't cancelled.

During the trial you get full access to everything on the Starter plan. No feature gates, no "trial mode" watermarks.

Why we ask for a card upfront

Trial signups without a card don't tend to actually evaluate the product — they sign up out of curiosity and never come back. By asking for a card, we filter for people who genuinely intend to try Wiqly, which is fairer for everyone (including us).

You can cancel any time during the trial and pay nothing. If you forget and we charge you, just email us — we don't believe in surprise charges, and we'll refund anything in the first few days of your first paid month if you didn't intend to subscribe.

Pro trial

If you sign up directly on the Pro plan, the same 7-day trial applies — you can cancel before day 8 with no charge.

How to cancel

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click Manage subscription (this opens our payment processor's customer portal)
  3. Click Cancel subscription
  4. Confirm

If you cancel during the trial, your access ends immediately and you're not charged. If you cancel after the trial, you keep access until the end of your current billing period (so a monthly subscription cancelled on day 15 keeps working through day 30).

What happens to my data after cancellation?

Your widgets stop rendering on your site immediately when your access ends. Your data — widgets, FAQs, leads, analytics — is retained for 30 days in case you come back. After 30 days it's permanently deleted.

If you re-subscribe within 30 days, everything is exactly where you left it.

What if I'm in the middle of a billing period?

We don't pro-rate refunds for cancellations mid-cycle. You paid for the month, you keep access through the month. After that, no further charges.

Pausing instead of cancelling

We don't currently support pausing. If you need to take a break, cancel and re-subscribe when you're ready — your data is held for 30 days.
